LEGO launch braille bricks for children with sight loss

LEGO have created bricks which will enable children with sight loss to learn braille while playing.

LEGO Braille Bricks will be moulded with the same number of studs used for individual letters and numbers in the Braille alphabet, while remaining fully compatible with the existing LEGO System. Each brick will also feature a printed letter or character. The bricks are intended to get blind and visually impaired children interested in learning Braille.

New College Worcester (NCW) has been involved in this development - you can find out more here. BBC's Victoria Derbyshire Programme included a report on the braille bricks, featuring staff and students from NCW which is on their website.
