Dance event in Bangor

Vertical Dance Kate Lawrence, a North Wales-based Vertical Dance Company, is inviting people with sight loss to Yn y Golau/In-visible Light, a Research and Development project in partnership with Pontio, funded by Arts Council of Wales on Saturday May 11th 2019 at 2pm or 4pm, Pontio, Bangor, and is asking for thoughts and feedback on the research so far.

Yn Y Golau/In-visible Light will be a new family dance performance. The project is aiming to create an immersive sensory experience exploring natural light phenomena from stars and planets to the bioluminescence in the ocean, and is particularly interested in exploring how to make the show accessible for visually impaired audiences and, to see how much can be conveyed through senses other than sight in an experimental way without relying on audio description.

Free tickets are offered to people with a vision impairment, and assistance with transport can be provided if needed. The sharing is approximately 20 minutes and afterwards there is an informal discussion and an optional ‘have-a-go’ session.

A short video has more information, you can access it here. To register your interest please contact Kate Lawrence at k.lawrence1964@gmail.com. For more information on the company please visit their website.
