Society has little understanding of life for people with sight loss - New report from Guide Dogs

A new research report from Guide Dogs calls for members of the public to understand more about the everyday life of people with sight loss. 'By My Side' reveals that 60% of vision impaired people say that society has little understanding of the challenges they face, while 57% of sighted people want to understand more about sight loss.

The report is based on interviews with more than 500 vision impaired people and 2,000 sighted adults, and considers five areas: communities, family life, friendships, parenting, and love/relationships. The Guide Dogs organisation is encouraging people to sign up to their 'My Guide' programme, and has also launched a TV advert to raise awareness. You can read the full report here.
