World Glaucoma Week 2019

World Glaucoma Week 2019 is 10th to 16th March. The event is a collaboration between the World Glaucoma Association and the World Glaucoma Patient Association, and involves a series of activities to raise awareness of the condition and encourage people to have regular eye (and optic nerve) checks to detect glaucoma earlier.

This year, the International Glaucoma Association (IGA) and Santen Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, have joined forces to produce a unique interactive ‘eye test’ to demonstrate what the world looks like to people living with glaucoma. The test is part of a joint campaign to raise awareness of the eye condition among younger first-degree relatives of older people most likely to develop glaucoma. For more information, visit the IGA website, where you can also find details of the glaucoma support groups in Wales.

The IGA has a helpline (Sightline) for anyone affected by the condition, the number is 01233 64 81 70.
