Consultation on improving assisted rail travel

The Office of Road and Rail (ORR) which protects the interest of road and rail users, has published proposals significantly revising guidance for train and station operators to make the railway more accessible for disabled people. It is now carrying out a consultation on the proposals, which include reducing the notice period for booking assistance, and making journey planning information more accessible.

To read the consultation document and find out how to respond, visit the ORR website. The closing date is 18th January 2019.

RNIB will be providing a response to the survey, and have asked people with sight loss to give their views. If you would prefer to comment via this route (rather then directly to ORR), click here to complete a short survey (closes 17th January).
