VocalEyes publishes 'State of Museum Access 2018' report

VocalEyes, the organisation which aims to increase access to arts and heritage for people with sight loss, has published a report on the provision of access information on the websites of museums in the UK. It found that only 81% of museums provided access information for disabled visitors on their websites, with the figure for Wales being lower, at 76%.

Good information about access facilities is very important as it enables disabled people to plan their visit - and the lack of such information is a barrier to visiting. The report includes lots of advice for museums on how they can improve, and includes the Glynn Vivian museum in Swansea as an example of good practice. The report calls on museums to take the Museum Access Pledge.

You can find out more and read the full report on the VocalEyes website.
