Inaccessible gym equipment is a barrier to fitness for vi people

A new report from the Thomas Pocklington Trust and consumer research charity RICA has looked at the accessibility of equipment in gyms, and concluded that the inaccessibility of machines such as treadmills and cross-trainers is preventing people with sight loss from getting the benefits of exercise.

The report also looked at the experiences of vision impaired people when visiting gyms, and found some problems with lighting, signage and layout, and a lack of vi awareness in staff at the gyms.
