'Time to catch up' - report on TV access services

The Communications Consumer Panel (the independent policy advisory body for consumers and telecommunications and broadcasting) has a new report on access services. It looks at the availability, awareness and use of access services, including TV subtitling, signing and audio description in the UK.

The report, 'Time to catch up', finds that although the way that TV can be viewed has been revolutionised over the past 10 years, the benefits that this brings have not been equally available to all, with problems being found with the availability, quality and awareness of audio description services for people with sight loss. The report makes a range of recommendations for how provision could be improved.

You can find out more and read the full report here.
