Magnetic implant used to treat nystagmus

Researchers at the University of Oxford and University College London have developed a set of magnetic implants to treat the eye condition nystagmus.

The treatment, which has been reported in the journal Opthalmology, was carried out 4 years ago, and has resulted in an improvement in visual acuity. Researchers are now recruiting patients for a larger clinical trial involving between six and 12 people. For more information, see the report in Optometry Today.
