Management of glaucoma patients in care homes: new research
Research funded by the International Glaucoma Association and the Royal College of Nursing has found that nurses working in care homes need more support and education in order to effectively manage glaucoma and the effects the condition has on the health and wellbeing of older people.
Researchers found that knowledge of opthalmic conditions among nursing staff was limited, and there was confusion between different eye conditions and their treatment. You can find out more about the research, and the main conclusions of the report on RNIB's website.
