UK Government report on disabled spectators and sporting event accessibility

A report commissioned by the UK Government has looked at the experiences of disabled people when visiting sporting events, and reveals the problems that they face. For people with sensory loss, these problems include lack of audio description, inaccessible programmes, and low levels of disability awareness among staff and other spectators.

The report calls on clubs to take urgent action to provide appropriate support and space for disabled spectators, and reminds them of their legal obligations to provide adequate room and adjustments. For more information, and to read 'The Inclusive and Accessible Stadia Report', click here.
