Description: Provides services and support for people with sight loss in South Wales. In addition to listed services they run various events throughout the year such as coffee mornings, Annual Expo, i-Sight conference etc and have a specialist knowledge about people with Sight Loss and Learning Disabilities and those from different ethnicities who are at greater risk of sight loss.

Welfare rights assistance to
visually impaired people in the area. Will carry out the interview at the individual's home.

Assessments are done at someone's home or office, and the service is to help complete forms, find supporting evidence and assistance to take to tribunal if necessary.
Rehabilitation officers can give people with sight problems the skills and confidence that they need to stay independent, including help getting about, communication, lighting, using magnifiers and special equipment in the home.

vision impairment and their siblings, age 18 to 50 years. The club meets to see a film, go for a walk, take a
trip and many other activities and create friendships. People with other

This is an activity
club for
children who have a
vision impairment and their siblings, aged four to sixteen years. The club meets every fortnight on a Saturday to try out new activities, have fun and create friendships. Members of the club take part in a range of activities, including a Chocolate Making Workshop, Swimming, Arts and Crafts, Dry Slope Ski-ing and lots of other activities. Parents are able to network, get information and
advice whilst the children enjoy themselves.

A comprehensive
resource centre with aids for everyday living. Includes mobile phones, talking clocks and watches, large print diaries, calendars etc. Also lots of aids and adaptations that you can use for your own home without spending money. Dual sensory loss aids also available.
Qualified staff to provide awareness
training to volunteers,
carers, nursing staff, GPs, businesses etc. A course that shows you how to understand the perspective of a
vision impaired person and how to approach, guide and leave a vision impaired person.
Professional
training aimed at
Rehabilitation officers,
Social workers, nursing staff, Optometrists etc. Includes talks from specialist consultants on a variety of eye related topics and networking opportunities.
Keep up to date and learn how to use computers, IT and other assistive
technology.
Provides confidential support and information to people who, because of sight loss, are experiencing emotional difficulties. The service is available face-to-face in the clients own home or by telephone.
